Frank Mittelstadt was born and raised in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin where he graduated from Beaver Dam High School and later from Madison Area Technical College.  Currently he lives on Beaver Dam Lake with his lovely wife, Lori, a talented kitchen designer.
  Much of the inspiration for Frank's work is found in his own backyard, the lake and marshes that surround his home.  Frank enjoys just about any activity that takes him outdoors - skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, hunting, and golf!
  Whether working in acrylics, oils, pastels or pencils, Frank Mittelstadt always strives for the most accurate portrayals of the natural world.  He is known best for his bold lighting and meticulous details.
  As a self-taught artist, Frank has garnered a remarkable list of awards which include:
